Privacy Policy
PureWave takes a straightforward approach to privacy: collect only what is needed to understand how the site is used, be transparent about it, and give visitors a way to opt out. This policy covers what data is collected when you visit purewaveacoustic.co.za, why it is collected, and what you can do about it.

What is collected and why
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors interact with it — which pages are visited, how long people stay, and what devices and general locations they come from. No names, email addresses, or personal identifiers are sent to Google Analytics unless you submit the intake form.
Google Analytics collects:
- Pages visited and time spent on each
- General location at city level (derived from IP address — the IP itself is not stored by Google)
- Device type, browser, and operating system
- How you arrived at the site (direct, search, referral)
This information is used solely to improve the site — understanding which pages are useful and which are confusing, and whether the site works properly on different devices.
Intake form data
If you submit the intake questionnaire, the information you provide (name, contact details, room details, and preferences) is stored securely and used only to respond to your enquiry. It is not shared with third parties, sold, or used for advertising. You can request deletion of your intake submission at any time by contacting purewave@purewaveacoustic.co.za.
Legal basis for processing
PureWave operates under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), South Africa's data protection law. Analytics data is processed on the basis of legitimate interest — understanding how the site performs so it can be improved. Intake form data is processed to fulfil your request for a consultation.
Data retention
Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months (Google's default), after which it is automatically deleted. Intake form submissions are retained for as long as the business relationship is active, or up to 3 years, whichever is shorter.
Google's role
Google acts as a data processor for analytics data collected on this site. Their data practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy. PureWave does not share your data with Google beyond what Google Analytics collects automatically via the tracking tag.
Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to:
- Know what personal information PureWave holds about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Object to processing of your information
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa
To exercise any of these rights, contact purewave@purewaveacoustic.co.za. Requests are handled within 30 days.
How to opt out of analytics tracking
You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your visit in two ways:
- Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on — works in all major desktop browsers.
- Use a browser with tracking protection enabled, or a browser extension that blocks analytics scripts (such as uBlock Origin).
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a material way, the updated date at the top of this page will reflect the change. Continued use of the site after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
